Airplane pilot in mid-air collision with helicopter is identified
Authorities have identified one of the pilots involved in the Sunday night collision over the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta in which an airplane clipped a helicopter near Rio Vista.

Amtrak riders must walk two-block distance to catch trains downtown
Downtown Sacramento train riders will find themselves walking the equivalent of two blocks across an expanse of dirt this summer when the city opens new passenger platforms in the downtown railyard.
It's now just a short walk for passengers to board Amtrak or Capitol Corridor trains from the I Street depot, but come summer the walk gets longer to new platforms. Tracks are being moved to accommodate the railyard project. 
Poll queries residents about arena parking surcharge
An opinion poll circulating this weekend asks Sacramento city residents whether they would support a $1 to $3 surcharge on out-of-town motorists who park in city garages when sports, concerts or other entertainment events are being held at a planned downtown arena.
